Holly bush rescue

I hired someone to cut my Holly bush in half...he used a chain saw...it looks terrible...not sure how to upload a photo on here..Should it be cut down to the ground? What would give it the best opportunity to grow back nice and full?

Welcome to the forums! For the most part, pruning a holly bush quite low, and sometimes to the ground won't be detrimental. I cut one down below the ground once, placed an air conditioner concrete pad over it, and in a year, the bush was peeking out.

I'd leave it alone for a season, hollys are really strong plants. When it starts to grow out, you can have a knowledgeable person prune it or DIY with a bit of research.
