Question Evap coolers: Fire hazard? Tradewinds?? Installation?

In the desert with 8 months of summer, I have to get back to using a swamp cooler. Seems I've been told that there's a fire hazard with swamp coolers installed on roof of mobile homes??? If true, what needs to be done to prevent this? Also Tradewinds was highly recommended -- is there a superior unit? What should I be looking at for installation (aside from cooler itself) as far as materials/labor/cost?

Now that one I havent heard about. Cant see why it would be.
But I cant see how you can put one up on a trailer roof. They cant take the weight. You would have to built some kind of wood frame to hold it up on the roof. Also I sure wouldnt try to build a roof jack for it to keep the rain water
out there on a trailer roof.
Id try and tie it into the heat ducts under the trailer or a window

Hi Try to go through the wall. you can get a window cooler and change the opening of the cooler so it will fit between the studs. check out xxxxxxxxxxdotcom. they have a list of all the cooler makers.

The reason for the fire hazard is the water pump on a swamp cooler will wear out and freeze up and then comes the fire.So you just put a inline breaker for the water pump problem solved. SHANE FROM BAKERSFIELD
