Master Cool fan stuck on

My Master Cool squirrel cage fan is staying on, even when the thermostat turns off. I rapped lightly on the control board relays which turned the fan off. So it appears that I need a new fan relay, which probably means that I need a new control board.

My problem is that I don't know the model number of the cooler. The cooler was in place when I purchased the house in 2004 and the model information on the side of the cooler has completely faded away. I opened the unit and found hand-written on the side of the fan housing (3-31-94). Additionally, there was a sticker that said to use only Adobe Air parts and that the fan was a 120v model 940H. Can anyone tell me:

- What model cooler this is?
- The part number for the control board?
- Where to get the control board?

BTW - when it worked the cooler was wonderful, much sweeter smelling air than the CAC and huge savings on the electric bill . . . we miss it!

Thanks, Bill

Adobe air made the Mastercool and went out of business a few years back. Champion cooler bought the name but the cooler they make is nothing like yours, or near as good.
Lowes sells a low voltage thermostat kit that you can use to replace your control and thermostat with but it will require you to change the wiring a little inside your cooler. The thermostat is made by Dial and runs around 95 bucks. Good luck!

I got the kit, now I just need to find the time to install it. Thanks for the tip!

PC board resolder

My Master Stat Controller (CC2000A Rev 2003) was in 2 parts. The Thermostat unit in the house and the Power Control unit in the Cooler. The power Control unit was mounted on the squirrel cage fan housing so it vibrated some when running. That means the components vibrated slightly with respect to the PC board. Especially the larger components.
My first symptom - Intermittent failure to turn the water pump on. I could see a faint crack in the solder around the pin of a relay on the PC board. Resoldering the PC pins solved that problem. The second symptom was quicker than usual on-off cycling of the fan. I resoldered all the pins on the PC board and all problems subsided.
A better mounting place for the Power Control Unit would be good, but outside of the cooler might be a thermal problem here in the hot desert south west.
