Temperatures too broad on Master Cool thermostat
#1

I have a Master Cool with a replacement control and thermostat, #110423. The problem is that the range of temperatures on the thermostat vary about 3 degrees from the set temperature. For instance, if I set the unit to 76 degrees, the indoor temperature varies from 75 to 78 degrees. I've dug in the manual but can find nothing about how to "tighten" up this range . . . can anyone help?
Thanks, Bill

I did not find any specific info about the circuitry of that thermostat.
I would severely doubt that there would be a way to make the thermostat track closer to the set temperature. More than likely it was designed that way on purpose to eliminate the constant cycling at the set temperature.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm not sure what Dial Mfg. was thinking when they made the range of the thermostat so broad. I mean all that cycles on and off are a fan and a water pump. This wouldn't be an irritation to me, even if it cycled on and off every 30 minutes! Oh well . . .

Nothing that can be done as far as adjusting. In the past, I have built my own low voltage thermostats using heating and cooling thermostats, they had a closer differential but it wasnt capable of two speeds.
White rodgers makes a low voltage evap cooler control that has a closer temp range, havent seen them sold locally in a few years but they still make them and can be bought over the net.
