Need some swamp cooler assistance

I had purchased a house with out any type of AC (refrigerated or evaporative). I couldn't afford to put in refrigerated because of my house being a 2 level and the air handlers for both levels would bring the cost up to around $20,000.

So I had 2 Aerocool Champion Series swampers installed 1 on each level.

The problem I have is that I like my family room to be dark because I use it with a projector, and they don't like much ambient light. That means I cant keep the windows open so that causes a problem. I installed an updraft to vent into the attic but that didn't help much at all.

Does anyone know of something similar to an air deflector for a heating vent that I could install along the bottom of my windows and it would allow the black curtains to sit on it, blocking out light, but still allowing air to exit the open window by drawing it from the bottom of this air deflector? Basically I want something like this, but it would be facing the ground instead of forward as it shows in this pic:

I would spray paint the inside of this to eliminate light bleeding thru, the window would still be open, minimal light would be brought in and everyones happy

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you

If I understand your condition then just in fact use that deflector as you subscribed. Paint it black and you're good to go.

The only problem I see is that swampers need to move a lot of air to work correctly.
Trying to have curtains in front of a window with that cooler may not fly.

Well that's where the issue is, my windows are 34" inside width, and 39" wide from each edge of the window frame. I haven't found anything to fit either size, biggest I have found is 25".

Yeah the curtains in front of the open window is going to be an issue, but my idea with this type of a deflector, the opening will be facing the floor, if I can find one that's 4 - 6 inches high, that would let me keep the window open 4 - 6 inches, and I am thinking it should pull enough air through. The curtains could then be left down and would not interfere with the exiting air at all since it will be coming from the downward pointed opening of the air deflector.

Hope I'm making sense lol

You're making sense but I think it's going to be experimental to get the correct effect.
