Difference Between 4500 and 5900 Bonaire Durango
I’m trying to figure out the difference between Durango 4500 and 5900. I think it’s a 1/4 hp motor versus 1/3 hp motor. Everything else interchanges according to website. i.e. fan, pads, etc... bottom line, wondering if I can upgrade my 4500 to a 5900 by replacing blower motor. And, where to purchase said motor other than Bonaire.

Welcome to the forums.
It does look like the only difference is in CFM delivery which like you pointed is probably due to the fan. I'm not sure it would be worth the cost to upgrade the motor. It's not like you're going to see a night and day difference.

I know this thread is old but important for future Bonaire buyers. There is no difference between either Bonaire unit. I completely checked two different sizes at the store once and couldn't find any difference between the two. So, I called Bonaire and asked why the price difference and they told me the 5900cfm unit uses a bigger capacitor to spin the fan faster. Well, I call bs on that but that's just my opinion. Sorry but a 5 dollar capacitor can't justify the price difference between the two coolers and I honestly haven't noticed one cooler blowing more air than the other. So, if anyone wants a Bonaire, buy the smaller sized unit.
