Repairing Cement Siding

Does anyone know how to repair this type of siding? A small section of our siding is crumbling/chipping off. I'm not sure if we should use wood cement or if that would even hold up outside in a Minnesota winter. Thanks!

Brush vs. Spray Stain on Cedar siding

Hi everyone. Wow. It's been a while since I've written to this group, but I'm always reading the posts. I have just cleaned the cedar siding and brushed on a coating of Cabot's semi-solid oil stain at my summer cottage. I am now exhausted. I want to put on a second coat for durability and richer color, but my shoulder is still recovering from the brushing! I figured the brush is needed to get deep into the grain, so maybe the 2nd coat is not as important? Can I just spray the 2nd coat with a Wagner sprayer? What can I expect if I try it (adhesion, streaks, blotchy?). Next time, is it better to spray the first coat and brush the 2nd coat? Any thoughts are appreciated. Could anyone please help me with how to remove exterior paint from cedar plank siding. I was trying to remove the old paint from our house and discovered it is cedar plank siding. I have tried to scrape the house (that will take forever) then I tried to pressure wash the cedar to remove the paint but the cedar is so soft it is damaging the wood. Does anyone have any suggestions at all on how to remove the old paint (50years). :confused:Read More
