Question Painting Cedar Shakes - when to powerwash?

I recently removed vinyl siding from my house and plan to repair and repaint the original cedar shakes. The problem is that there are hundreds of holes left from the vinyl siding installation. My question is whether I should fill those holes before or after powerwashing in preparation of painting? Any thoughts would be most appreciated!

It likely won't matter.

How is that going?

Hi.. I am considering doing the same thing to my house. It has white vinyl siding over some cedar-look wood. I'd really love to take the siding off and paint. Did you do yours yet? Any advice?

I'm worried about the wood underneath. I don't know what condition it's in.. Was that a concern for you?? How did you check it before deciding to remove the siding?
