Vinyl Siding Ventilation

Does siding need to have ventilation? Or is there enough airflow between each piece? I am having trouble with mice or something getting in between our siding and our wall. I would like to put some kind of exterior insulation, between the siding and the wall. Is that ok to do? Any help would be great!! Thanks, I live in the northeast.

No Ventilation

Vinyl siding does not need any 'ventilation'.

You can use a variety of foam insulating products from fan-fold and rigid foam boards to drop-in style foam backers.

The simpler option amy be to call Terminix, however.

One way they can get under your siding is easy to fix. Check your corners at the bottom and see if they are capped.
