How thick should exterior plywood sheathing be?

hi..

currently my project-home (circa 1938) has some cedar shakes, which are directly over some makeshift t&g siding/sheathing. The t&g is approximately 3/4" thick.

i'm planning on residing the house in the spring, and wish to rip off the t&g and re-sheath it with plywood.

my question is, what is recommended thickness?

thanks.
