Green stuff on siding

Hello,

The house we just moved into has wood siding. I noticed that on some spots where it doesn't get enough sunshine, there is a green substance on the wood (mold? mildex?).

What is the best way to treat this?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Mold, mildew, or moss. Wash it off with a cleaning solution. If you decide to use a bleach solution, I would test it first in a small area to make sure it doesn't discolor the wood. Good luck.

Bleach works well. Use a garden sprayer 1/2 bleach 1/2 water let set and rinse. Be sure to cover or continually rinse any vegeation you don't wqant harmed. When ever you repaint consider adding an extra mildewcide to the paint, especially in areas where you have the problems.
