How to plug up holes in plastic soffit vents?

I had to drill a few holes about the size of a nickel in my soffit vents in order to feed a wire through. Now I have a hole about the size of a nickel open and I am noticing now that it's getting warmer here in Jersey that insects are flying up through this hole into my attic. So I want to get something to seal this hole up to stop insects from getting in there. Does anybody know of something that will work good for this?

Thanks

Low expansion spray foam; wadded scrubby pad, a bridge of exterior, acrylic latex caulk. Most anything durable that can be fit into the hole.
