Paint vinyl siding...who's done it?
#1

Ok, I've read lots of articles about painting vinyl siding with helpful information like 'use the same color or lighter', etc. I'm looking for people who have actually done it and have something to say about it!
Would love to hear your stories...did you use a sprayer? brush? how many coats? how long ago did you paint it and has it lasted? would you do it again? have any before and after pictures to share?
I am seriously considering painting vs. re-siding, but would like to know just what I'm getting into first! You would have my sincerest appreciation!
Come on! I want to know! Thanks!

I have. I used a sprayer once and a brush the last time. Paint it the same or a lighter color. It looks pretty good after 3 years. The usual preparation applies.
Hope this helps.

I had a customer 8-10 yrs ago who bought a house with gray vinyl and wanted it yellow. Since I could get no advice from either the paint store or the vinyl siding store I used my own judgement. I washed it, sprayed a light coat of deglosser [1 side @ time] then sprayed SWP super paint satin [latex] I haven't been by there in a few years but as far as I know it still looks good.
