azek trim board

I,m redoing my facia with azek trimboard. Can you just replace one board with another or must you put additional support between each rafter to prevent a wavy affect.

Also, I was thinking of routing the Azek around my windows to eliminate J-channel. I'm using nailite vinyl shingles and think I would have to use a thicker board (5/4) to do this. Any suggestions would be helpful.

it wouldn't be a bad idea to add the additional support. azek expands and contracts like wood (though not nearly as much), so you would end up with the "wavy effect" eventually. also, as for the trim. it does sound like you'll need a thicker board. luckily, azek does make some 5/4" stock. check with your closest azek etailer. if they don't have it in stock, it can most likely be ordered.
