I have vinyl siding on my home and under one of my windows it looks like the siding has come loose and formed a "bubble". It appears that it has just come un-attached from the house. Not the entire piece, but just the middle section. How do I go about re-attaching the siding to fix this problem? Thanks Joe

I have a 1926 wood frame bungalow with brick veneer. At the top of the brick veneer is a board I'll call a fascia, which is caulked to the soffit board under the eave. I am prepping for paint and have replaced that soffit-to-"fascia" caulk where necessary but it seems silly since there's still a 1/32 to 1/16" or larger gap between the brick and the fascia board. There are also gaps in various other places, like corners and between the soffit board and the "real" fascia (The one behind the gutter). 1. Is the caulk I replaced just for appearance, or weatherseal? 2. Should I caulk all of these other gaps, or just some? Which ones? 3. How can I best stop cold air from infiltrating the side walls and circulating under the second-floor joists and into pipe spaces? 4. How should water vapor behind the brick veneer get out? Other background My attic is finished with a cathedral ceiling. The inside of the roof and top 12" of the sidewall is insulated with icynene spray foam. That 12" of insulated sidewall extends down to about 8" above the soffit. Below there there is some blown-in cellulose where practical. There is no attic or roof venting. (The attic is heated and air-conditioned.) The soffit boards are solid, unvented.
