Vinyl versus Vinyl Cedar Pricing

About to side our house. I have googled until I can google no more.

Is there much difference in price between regular Vinyl siding and Vinyl siding that has the Cedar look to it. Saw one site certainteed.com that calls it "Cedar Impressions".

My wife loves the cedar look but we don't want to have to get real cedar so the 'fake' vinyl cedar look would suffice.

Any links much appreciated. THere's a million sites wanting u to register to get a contractor to price it 4 u. All I want is to understand the cost difference right now.

thx

Welcome to the forum. The cedar shake type vinyl siding is more expensive than the regular d5 or dutch siding. In fact it is almost double the cost of the basic siding. But it is a thicker more stable siding, mainly due to the curvatures. If that is what you want, then I would go for it, as installing real cedar shakes will literally give you the shakes pricing it. Good luck with your project!
