Removing vynyl siding
Hello, I need to remove about 3 rows of vynyl siding from the bottom of my house to get better access to replace an outdoor faucet. What is the best way to remove it and re-install it without causing a problem? The faucet is about 2 ft. from my door so I don't need to remove the entire length.
Thanks

Its pretty easy to do. But you need the right tool. It is called a siding tool. It can be purchased at any lumber yard or home improvement store. Its about 4" long, with a handle and a 1" wide blade bent over at the end. You slide it up under the siding hook it, and pull down and move it along the siding while pulling down. This unclips the siding from the piece above. After unclipping several rows, then you can bend the siding up and pull out the nails holding the siding on. Replace in the reverse, except when replacing, you put the bottom piece on and snap it onto the starter strip, nail and snap on the nexk row of siding. When you get to the last piece, you will need the tool again to pull down the bottom of the siding and push in and up for the siding to clip as you pull your siding tool down the siding. They only cost about $4.00 good luck.
