drip edge and stucco

I have recently replaced 60' of drip edge on my wood siding. What do I do with the 30' that the stucco covers up the lip of the drip edge? How do I get the drip edge out? There is not any metal flashing, just rotting drip edge. thanks

I can't think of any way of removing the drip cap without chipping off the stucco covering it, then replacing the stucco after a new drip lip is installed.
