Question Wanted: vinyl siding advice

Hi All.

I've been working for someone else installing vinyl siding and am now branching out to do it on my own. I am aware that they charge $200-$300 per square. My question is, is this the same price that would be appropriate to charge on a subcontracting job on a new home?
Now I know that when installing fiber cement siding more labor is required. Is it customary to charge the same amount or how much exactly is a fair price?
Any assistance in with the above questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is that price for just labor? Or is it materials and labor?

Not wanting to get into the dollar amount, siding an older home as a remodel is alot more labor intensive than a new house, since windows and doors may present problems, you may have to remove old siding, etc., So as an answer to your question, no, a new residence probably would not be as much in labor.
Since you have been doing it, you know how much more labor intensive installing fiber cement siding is, and will have to form a price based on the time element. Equipment is different, and an investment will have to be made to do either, and that is where overhead comes into play.
