Vinyl Siding and Soffitt

Vinyl Siding and Soffitt
I need to cover my carport gable with vertical vinyl soffit and also install soffit under the eaves.
Which do I install first, the vertical soffit on the gable or the soffit under the eaves? Do I use 2 pieces of J-channel where the gable and eaves meet?
Thanks in advance. I really enjoy this forum.

Mr Wirepuller,
If I were doing it, I'd likely install an f-channel level with the bottom edge of the fascia, and then install the soffit first. Then I'd install a j-channel up to the bottom of the f-channel and then your siding would be installed onto the wall.
F-channel nails to the house rather than to the soffit, and usually when you nail to the house it is a little more solid than nailing upside down to the soffit which is sometimes kind of bouncy depending on how it was framed and what size plywood they used.
