Eliminating ugly 50's brick halfwall facia
Hi all,
I have a house that I wish to reside. It has several sections of brick facia half wall, painted white (of course). I wish to eliminate this eyesore from my house when I reside it. I did note one thing however...
The house was made for this facia, e.g. the brick is full size brick. The foundation comes out to meet it.
So, if I eliminate the brick, I will have a foundation that sticks out beyond the normal wall.
So, my question is, how should I reside the outside walls that have this brick? My questions results from the fact that wood or vinyl siding would end on the foundation and there would be a 3-4 inch lip of the extended foundation. (Where water can pool and run-in or rot the wall)
Are there any tricks other than building out the walls to meet the foundation? (would be a major task because of all of the window involved)
Any ideas?
Thanks all,
Seth

Put flashing behind the first layer of siding, let is cover the top of the exposed foundation and down over a portion of the face of the foundation.
