Noisey Soffits

I just purchased a new home and whenever the wind is gusting 15+ mph the soffits will rattle like crazy. The home is on a new development w/ no trees, and on the side of a small valley. Should the soffits rattle in the wind? What can be done to fix the rattle. Just by looking out my window I'd say the soffit has at least .25" to move up and down.

This kind of thing you will mostly see on new built homes. Alot of times the contractor doesn't use F-Channel to hold the soffit tight on the home, it's cheaper and saves him money, and, they most likely didn't push the aluminum fascia tight against the outside of the soffit, that why you have a gap. It can be fix, get a contractor that does things right. When these new homes go up, they want to put them up as cheap as they can, and sell them for as much as they can.
