Flashing between roof and wall

I,m removing existing siding and sheathing from my home replacing with new. My question is how do I flash between shingle and wall? The final product will be vinyl. I guess my main concern is the roof will be replaced in couple of years and I don't want any problems with water if you know what I mean.

Hopefully your roof currently has step shingles installed on every row of shingles. When you tear off the roofing, these step shingles would ordinarily stay put, and get reused.

You say you are tearing off the sheathing. What thickness is the existing sheathing, and what thickness of sheathing will be replacing it? I ask, because if the sheathing level is getting built out FARTHER, then it creates some problems with your existing roof flashing.

thanks very much for your imput but I think after looking over the project I believe the best route is to time my sheathing installation with replacing the roof
