dr. vinyl

Have you guys ever used or heard anything about dr. vinyl? The reason I am asking is because my house was hit with hail and the insurance company wants to repair the vinyl siding instead of replace it. Do the repairs fade, crack, break, not match, ets.? Thanks for your input.

As a homeowner, I would insist that the siding be replaced. I've never heard of dr. vinyl and would be very skeptical of any repair. It certainly could never look like new. I also can't imagine that repairing a zillion holes could possibly be cheaper than replacing the siding.

If you have 4 or 5 holes that might be a different story.

Contact your homeowner insurance company re: vinyl replacement. Better quality vinyl siding is more resistant to hail damage. Some vinyl manufacturers offer warranties and replacement materials damaged beyond coverage of homeowner insurancy less deductible. Replacment labor, of course, is not covered.
