Garage Siding

We have either corrugated or pressboard siding on our garage. 2 years ago, we pressure washed off the old paint and repainted. The corrugated or pressboard is now blistered and tearing off. We have seen mice eat through the pressboard. Question: How do we take the pressboard off and replace it? This stuff is horrible and we would rather re-side, but our budget will now allow right now. We have several boards left from the previous owners in the garage. How do we replace it? Thanks

Sounds like it might be masonite, it holds up well until it gets wet

You should be able to rip out the damaged pieces without too much problem. The hardest part will be prying loose the good boards above the damaged ones. If the upper nails don't come out easily you may need to cut them.

Be sure to paint it well - especially if it is near the ground. Any time the masonite finish is compromised, those areas need to be coated with an oil base primer.
