Question Replace only part of vinyl siding and cover concrete foundation

Our house is on a slope so at times up to 2 feet of the concrete foundation is showing. Other places, only a few inches of the foundation is showing. We currently have all vinyl siding, but were thinking of sprucing it up using a veneer stone. Here are a few of our questions:

1. Can you install the stone veneer over the concrete and continue it up the side of the house in one straight plane? How do you, or can you, attach it to concrete?

2. How do you remove only part of the vinyl siding without damaging what you want to keep? Should we take out a few extra pieces and then put it back after we install the stone?

Welcome to the forums! It is quite common to install stone on exposed block or monolith under the siding. Looks quite nice. The installer will attach a metal lath mesh to the exposed wall and set the stone using a thinset/mortar mix, and either strike the joints or dry stack the stone, depending on the design you like. You won't have to remove any of your siding, as the rock will butt up against it just fine, and you don't want to disturb the starting strip.
