Restucco existing ?

Have put an addition which will be stucco. The existing house has stucco- I want to have it restucco ed to match the new addition. The contractor told me that he can do this by: Power washing existing walls, apply stucco to flaten the surface of existing walls and then apply a matching texture/color.

Will this hold?

Appreciate any advice

Thanks

Does the existing stucco have paint on it? if so does he expect the pressure washing to remove the paint?

It sounds like he is proposing to coat your cementious stucco with a brown coat/bondcoat then an acrylic finish. This is a viable option.

The existing stucco is not painted except for couple of square feet where my wife put paint sample. Should I be worry about this area?

The pressure washer will probably take care of it, I don't think it will be a problem. There is a bonding agent that can be applied if you are overly concerned.
