Vinyl Soffit under a porch needs cutouts

I am trying to install some recessed lighting and speakers under my porch and am not doing well using hand cutters to make nice measured diameter holes .

What tool should I use for this? The the ceiling is like siding, lapped and nailed 16 inch oc. I have templates, but no idea how to make nice clean circular cuts.

Thanks in advance.

Cutting Holes

Sounds like you need a hole saw.

I'd use a compass to draw a perfect circle, then get yourself a right handed offset tin snips (red handle) they work better for cutting circles than a standard straight tin snip.

Thanks. It's particulary difficult to cut where the sofitt is joined
