Painting Vinyl Siding
my husband wants to paint our vinyl siding, but would it be worth it? does it look nice or is it better just to replace the siding?

Yes the siding can be painted. It must be clean and it's a good idea to add emulsa bond to the latex paint. It looks best sprayed but can be brushed.
Conventional wisdom dictates that the color change can't be darker because the vinyl is temperature rated. SWP came out [a few yrs ago] with a vinyl specific paint that they claim can be used to paint vinyl any color - but I haven't used any.
