F-channel and cornice moulding?????
what the heck is F-Channel used for? i know about J but when would someone use F-Channel?
does cornice moulding or cove moulding have a J-built into the bottom of it to recieve the siding?
the cove or cornice butts against the soffit so i guess the soffits still have to attatch to J? so the cornice butts against the J?

As you see from Wirepuller's picture if you used J channel it would have to be nailed to the area above the soffitt for the slot to line up. Plus F channel usually has a 1/2 inch opening and J has 5/8 inch. Yes I know you can get different sizes for both but the most common sizes are as I listed.
As far as cornice or cove moulding goes the standard now for vinyl siding is a Closure strip that the siding locks into, it mounts below and butted to the F channel for the soffitt. Plus there is a tool that punches places in the top of the siding that help with the locking in part.
