Aluminum siding paint problem
I'm painting aluminum siding that has a very good prior paint coat. I cleaned the siding with TSP/bleach and followed up with a good pressure wash. The first side painted has no defects and the second has what I would call spot bleed-thru and what looks like streaks from the washing. A recoat did not help.
It is hard to believe but could this be residual from the TSP due to inadequate rinse?
Any ideas/suggestions for solutions are certainly appreciated!
Thanks.

Ok, let me try again - cottin' pickin' dial up ate my response
How did you apply the TSP and bleach? was it rinsed before it dried?
While I know the cleaning agents must be rinsed well, I don't know for sure what happens if they aren't. I would suspect adhesion issues. Have you tried sanding the affected areas and then recoating? Could you supply a pic or two?

I applied TSP/bleach with a sprayer, same as I have done many times. It possibly dried some but everything was pressure washed after the cleaning. Raining today but I'll take some photos as soon as old Sol pops out and post them.

It's always best to rinse before the cleaner has time to dry - it rinses easier/better that way although one would think that the pressure washer would over come that.
Will wait for the pics
