Tore out deck and not have exposed damaged underbarrier siding.
I just tore out my deck to put in a patio and as a result I need to address the siding. I have LP siding as a barrier underneath the main siding but where the deck connected to the house the siding has been damaged. Besides trimming the exposed LP siding so that it is flush with the top siding does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Should I Bolt a 2x6 underneath?

Welcome to the forums! If the bottom of the new siding is level, and just covering the ugly is the quest, then I would cut strips of PT plywood the thickness of the new siding and overlay the old siding, bringing it all to the same plane. Then continue with trim board around the bottom of the house to dress it out, painting it to match. Under the door, I would cut a 5/4 decking board the width of the opening, rip one of the radius edges off and butt it up against your threshold. Bring your trim boards on either side to meet it. After a few months the pt board can be painted to match as well.

Thanks for the reply Chandler and sorry for the late reply. I cut the ugly siding underneath so that it is flush with the new siding and then I think I will caulk the gap underneath there and put 4x6 Trim board beneath it. Does that sound like a good plan? Love to get your opinion. After that I think I will address the door.

Because of the double siding I needed something thicker than 2x6 so I have 2 2"x6"x12' pieces I have put wood preservative on before I glue them together for a 4"x6"12' piece to use as the trim. Unwise decision?

Not unwise. Just threw me. Most people will call it 2 2x6's like you did the 2nd time. 4x6 would tell me it is one big, thick beam like they use for landscaping with actual dimensions of 1.5" x 5.5".
Again, make sure you get some flashing behind the siding and over your "trim" board. Otherwise water will get behind the board and cause more rot.
