Subsitute for cedar sidings

I'm building a small shed and had in mind to use cedar sidings but I think that would blow my budget!!! Is there anything else on the cheaper side that I could use that looks and is as durable for a shed? I live in Toronto Canada so we have the 4 seasons to deal with!!

What are your finishing plans for the shingles? They make OSB siding that resembles shingles but it has to stay painted for it to hold up long term. Are you trying to match the siding on your house?

I haven't thought of the shingles yet!!! Probably cedar or something similar that would fit the shed. The shed is attached to the side of my garage the house is a light brown kind of beige brick colour so I'm looking for something in that tone of colour

Have you looked into cement siding? When painted it looks similar to ceder boards. They also have panels that look like ceder shakes.

Just my personal opinion but wood outside is way too much hassle - I'd be thinking vinyl or fiber cement or something like that.

For some reason my brain was thinking you meant cedar shingles for the siding
I'd also vote for cement siding
