cleaning vinly siding

installed new siding approx 10 years ago....I'm repainting the shutters..and rrealized the siding needs cleaned badly...i have a power washer.....what is the best method to clean the siding...what cleaning agent is best for vinly siding...also can i clean up the alum gutters the same way/...thanks

Just make sure you always have a downward angle on the water relative to the siding, you don't want to push water up underneath it.

I'd use dish soap or something similar for this (unless you know what caused the problem and it indicates a particular solvent would be best).

Yes to what Mitch said. I've had to fix way too many interior walls and ceilings after people used pressure washers on the outside of vinyl sided houses.

They have angled ends for pressure washers just for this purpose. Not much help on a 2 story...but they can make a big diff on a single story.

If soap and water doesn't get it, try JoMax, sold at box stores and others. It is made specifically for vinyl siding. Apply it with a pump up sprayer, then medium force from the PW in a downward angle as mentioned.
