I am trying to find a match for a smooth finish masonite siding that is no longer manufactured. It is commonly known as "TwelveFour Cottage Lap 7/8" groove." This style is still manufactured, but not in the smooth finish. We need to replace approx. 150 LF of this siding. I have called all obvious manufacturers, but they haven't made it for years. I have called all recycled building materials places in my area (Denver) and no one has any. Does anyone have a suggestion for finding, replicating, or replacing this product?

A standard trick is to remove some of the same siding from a less visible area of your home and use that for the repair. Then patch or if the other area was small, replace it entirely.

Given the siding was never really suitable for outside siding, proved in court more than once, wouldn't that be like putting new shoes on a dead horse? Better to choose a similar cement siding and start replacing a bit at a time as you can afford to.</opinion>

If anyone wants to see a picture, all they have to do is Google it.
I come up with this page: http://www.collinsco.com/Library/Tru...CottageLap.pdf which shows the profile as well as pictures.
I imagine the pieces they want to match are smooth, which apparently are not available anymore. It seems to only be made in the woodgrain texture.
