Remove old felt, or not

I'm replacing the siding on my 75 year old house. I've come to a later addition, no idea when it was built, with felt [tar paper] under the old clapboards. I'm going to be putting up house wrap under the new siding.

This felt is not really in bad shape; it's not pristine, but it's not falling apart either. I'm considering just leaving it there and putting the house wrap over the top of it. Is this a mistake; will it interfere with the way the house wrap is designed to work? If you have any info or experience that would be useful, please let me know.

Thanks.

IMO it would be fine to leave it. It won't hurt a thing.
