Woodpeckers destroying my house trims

So for the past year, I got woodpeckers going on top of my house trims and making holes. Seen a lot of article on it. But whats the best or recent solution that can be permanent or long lasting?

Check the trim for insect damage.
If there's 3/8 perfectly round holes there after the carpenter bee larva.
Have the trim covered with coil stock.

The woodpeckers are looking for bugs to eat although I have seen times where they would mistake stryofoam expanding/contracting for the noise that bugs make. Covering with aluminum might be the best solution.

It comes in 2' wide rolls and is flat when uncoiled. They use a bending machine which can be rented, but takes a little practice. Several here can help if you go that route. Another option is to look for business cards or recommendations from rental businesses or lumber yards. Doing just the trim isn't a big job, especially for someone in the trade. They might squeeze you in for a one day job at a reasonable rate.

Hmm...Is there any other ways I can solve this problem? The trim top of my house is about 32 ft. That will take for ever.
