Installing T111, need to remove window?
I am having some sections of rotted T111 removed, and the area includes a window (vinyl, flanged). Do I need to remove the window to ensure the seal is properly weather-proofed? Contractor I am working with says window removal is unnecessary, but I live in the pacific NW where it rains 150 days/yr, want to ensure work is done the right way. Curious what DIY'ers think.

Welcome to the forums.
I can't think of a reason why the window would need to be removed.
What do you envision would happen while it was out?

Unless I am missing something, if you are removing the T1-11 from around the window, and can refit new under the nailing flange (if any), you will be fine. Cut your Tyvek back 2" shy of your nailing flange on the sides, apply sealant over the nailing flange holes and nail heads, apply 6" wide window tape along the bottom, then the sides, covering the nailing flange and over the Tyvek. Cut the Tyvek on top of the window at an angle from the corner up and out about 12". Tape up the flap temporarily. Apply sealant ant tape on the top flange. Let the flap go and tape your slits with Tyvek tape. This shouldnkeep moisture at bay.

Thank you Mitch,
Per the contractor, we would need to put down self-adhering waterproof membrane, in/around the sill, before re-installing the window, and then add a second layer of membrane before installing the siding.
Do you think applying the membrane over the already-installed window would be sufficient before installing the new siding?

Depends on whether or not the initial step of securing the sill was done originally. If not, then followmthe contractor's advice. Just ensure the remainder of the window is done as I have described. Don't wrap Tyvek inside the window opening.
