I don't know how to post a new thread yet, but I have a question hopefully someone can help me out. I need to know how to fix this hole in the exterior wall.

Got a bad situation there.
Improper grading.
That wood never should have been in direct contact with the ground like that.
Back up and take another picture so we can get an idea what that whole thing is.

A pic from farther back would help As Joe said, it's never a good idea to have wood touching [or close to] the soil. Why is the rotten molding just at the corner? what purpose does it serve? what is below that corner? wood, masonry or just dirt?

btw - welcome to the forums!

Is this a column that supports some structure above?
How far back does that big hole go? Is there lumber behind it? Steel? Masonry? Spiders? Snakes?
Skunks? Scorpions?
