Gap Between Siding

I've got a house with fibre cement siding and in some areas there are gaps between the weatherboards and I'm not sure whether this is something that I should be filling in. If I filled up all the gaps, nothing will get in, but there would be no ventilation, so not sure what I should be doing.

You should never caulk the underside of any lap siding.

House does not need to "vent" there.
A few stainless steel siding nails about 1" up from the bottom will pull it flat and close the gap if you clean out some of those paint blobs.
