Need stucco, can't afford it done this year...

Hey everyone,

I've recently put up my garage, finished roofing and am installing doors and windows this week, including my overhead. I need to get it weatherproofed, and can't afford the 5k hit for stucco on the building that seems to be the qualified price for a decent reputable insured (WCB) company.

My question is, if I cannot get it done this year, whats my best course of action. Tyvek builders paper, thick felt? Not sure what to wrap with!

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

Does zoning have any input on how soon the bldg must be finished? Tar paper should be ok if allowed. I suppose you could just paint the plywood.

I've been told inspector in calgary likes it to be papered atleast when they come through... I think I have until October (6 months) to complete the building... I could always extend it...

I had the same situation when I added an extension to my home. I went with the Hardie lap boards and stuccoed a year or two later. The siding was a loss but the price was acceptable to me.
