Paint or caulk first
I am replacing some rotten brick molding and sill nose on the outside of my dining room window. Should I paint the brick mold and sill nose first and then caulk or vice versa. I will be using silicone caulk.

If you are using pure GE silicone you definitely want to paint first as the caulking won't accept paint.
Use a paintable caulk anywhere you intend to paint [between 2 pieces of wood]

Rather than a pure silicone caulk I suggest that you use a siliconized acrylic latex caulk. It has most of the good qualities of pure silicone and yet is fairly easy to clean off your hands and tools plus it is completely paintable. That would mean to caulk first, let it dry for a day and then paint.
