How to find or reproduce discontinued wood siding
Hello, am new to the site. I have some woodpecker and water damage to a couple panels of wood masonite (or equivalent) wood product siding, originally installed on the house when new in 1995. I've hopefully successfully attached a picture. The panels are 15" wide, with two raised horizontal "board looking" sections per panel that are 6 1/4" wide each, separated by a slightly outwardly convex partition section as shown in the photo. I've checked locally and tried to search on-line without success to find a same size and configuration product. Does anyone know of a source for discontinued siding like this? Or perhaps how to reproduce it, e.g., using a router(?) from a similar wood-grain-looking currently available product? Thanks for any insights.

6 1/4 and 15 don't add up. Is each panel made of 6 1/4" + 1 1/4" bead + 6 1/4" + 1 1/4" bead? Either take a picture while holding your tape measure on it or give us the correct measurements. Each panel is probably measured from the bottom edge of a 6 1/4" to the top edge of the 2nd bead. Might also need more pics of the woodgrain if we hope to find an identifying characteristic of the woodgrain. Most brands have some characteristic "knot" that helps i.d. the brand. You are probably right that it's out of production.

I've painted a lot of masonite siding that looked like that ..... but I doubt you'd find any for sell today.
A pic or two of the damage might be helpful - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
btw - welcome to the forums!
