what is this kind of trim?

The trim boards on my house have a wood texture on them. I know, this sounds stupid, but it isn't like a normal piece of trim such as a 1x4 pine or something. That would usually be smooth. This is more like a manufactured surface. It is some kind of wood product though because there is water damage on a piece of it that I want to fix. I wanted to try and find out what it is before tearing into it so I can match it.

Thanks

Hard to say when we cant see it... can you post a picture?

LP Smarttrim and Miratec are 2 popular kinds of engineered trim but there are countless others.

That sounds like LP Smarttrim, but other brands might be similar.

It comes in 3/4" or 1" thickness. In my area, both Lowes and Menards carry it.
