Patching Small Holes in Siding

I'm in a new construction home. Siding is that composite cement stuff (Hardie Board is what it is called, I believe). A few of the panels have a couple small screw-sized holes in them that I'd like to patch and paint. What's the best way to do that? A good exterior spackle, or is there some sort of cement-based patch I should use instead?

I use painters caulk. Just squirt it into the hole so it's flush with the surface. Let it dry and paint.

I also use just caulking.
It only takes a tiny dab then wipe the area with a damp stiff sponge laying flat.
You want to fill the hole not have it on the face of the siding.
DO not use silicone!
Use Acrilic Latex.
