Sill plate & rim joist rot. Am I in big trouble?

Hello again.

I'm replacing my front door threshold. Some of you know that, because I've posted a few questions about it.
Along with replacing the threshold, I'm replacing the riser (kick plate).

When I removed the riser today, I discovered that, not only was the bottom of the riser rotted, but the sill plate and bottom of the rim joist were rotted as well. I really should not be surprised, because the people who formed the concrete landing (or pad) in front of the door, basically created a vessel for collecting water.

I made a first pass at digging out the punky/rotted wood.

I'm including a couple of pictures which, I hope, help describe the situation.

The first picture is wide/general view of the entrance-way.

The second picture is a closeup, looking down into the space between the concrete landing and the rim joist/sill plate. The sill plate was really rotted and approximately 2" of the 2x8 rim joist was rotted.

What do I need to do to remedy this situation?

Thanks in advance.
