Seal crawlspace entrance & Stucco

Have a small bump-out (5'x6') with a 3' high crawlspace underneath. Dirt floor, and currently just a 2' square hole as a crawl space entrance.

I don't foresee any reason for getting under this space, and was considering just sealing it up. I'm thinking about just using PT 2x4 framing, a sheet of Durock as a base, with mesh and a scratch coat of cement, followed by stucco/mortar to finish it off even with the existing stucco finish. I'd also include a standard foundation vent to give a little bit of airflow.

I realize the foundation vent is no longer the preferred method, but for the small space, I'm not too worried.

Any suggestions on the stucco framing and making this work?

Thanks in advance!
-Mike

Code requires access to any space in or under the home. So, you can't have a sealed, non-accessible area even if there is nothing in there. You can make a nice looking cover for the opening but I would hold it in place with screws so it can be removed in the future if needed.
