Cypress siding fuzzies?

I have recently power washed my cypress siding with too much pressure before i knew any better to do so. The wood has some pretty bad fuzzies now . A normal 80 grit pad on my orbital sander works for the high spots but it will not get down into the grain. Is there a specific pad that would help with this? Would there be an easier solution than having to sand the whole exterior of the house?

Can you switch your sander to be circular and not have an orbital/random action? If so that should allow it to cut better and knock down more fuzzies and grain. You can also try a belt sander.

What type of finish [if any] do you intend to apply to the siding? Normally the 'fuzz' from overaggressive washing is fairly easy to knock down with sandpaper.
