Unfinished work I am paying for
I had had my trailer resided with vinyl siding, our mobile home has aluminum or metal siding on it and the contractor put the new vinyl siding over top with out any kind of water barrier or house wrap, my question is should had the contractor put one of these up (house wrap or water barrier) before he screwed the new vinyl siding into the metal, I live in Michigan and don't know if the job was done right, don't have no over hangs on roof just a curved metal roof, ty.

On a conventional house the sheeting is not water proof so that is why the house wrap is installed.
Would think the original siding/skin on a trailer is water proof thus taking the place of any house wrap.

Wonder is some type of self sealing screw would have been appropriate for this?
You have a watertite/waterproof metal covering and now you're drilling holes in it.

I don't think there is any such thing as a self sealing screw for vinyl, since it must be loose. But vertical strips of Deck flash tape could have been applied around windows and on 16" centers everywhere else, and since the deck tape is self sealing, truss head screws placed through the siding 16" on center would in that case be "self sealing".
A WRB gets holes in it too and those holes aren't self sealing... so don't know that this is anything to be that concerned about. I get the impression the op thinks he's getting screwed somehow and that's really not the case. A WRB is pretty pointless over metal.
