You would need to take the siding down on that side, starting with the top row and work downward row by row. The lag hooks should be into the sheathing or framing, not just the vinyl siding.
I would get longer service hooks and move them to the corner of the house. You can get longer lag thread screw eyes from the home improvement stores. 5/16" x 6" would work good. You'd need to drill thru the vinyl corner into the sheathing and corner framing.
You could also call your provider and tell them the service hook(s) pulled out.
They will remount them no charge.
Once they were remounted you could fix the siding.
Hello there, everyone!
I’m looking to replace vinyl siding installed over wrapped osb sheathing and am trying to find a relatively inexpensive solution while not crippling the lifespan of the new siding.
The house is already got sheathing so I was wondering if I could save money by using thin plywood with battens installed over top. Is this doable? I thought I would use some construction adhesive and fasten with screws every 12 inches under where the battens would get installed.
Is this a viable method of attaining this look and if so, do I need to take any certain precautions to keep issues after install at bay? If this isn’t doable, what material would get me a longer life without breaking the bank? Is there an inexpensive solution out there other than just buying some wood/cement board and going to town?
Thanks for your time!Read More
Hello, I need to replace some of my aluminum siding corners that have come off. The issue is that I can't find them anywhere in the size I need which is 10" long and can accomodate 3/4" wood siding.
I found some that were 10" long, but the grooves on the bottom wouldn't fit the thickness of the siding. It's hard to believe these are so hard to find! Is there an alternative that I can do to keep the water out?
Thanks!
